Rosario Salgado

Rosario Salgado is an Argentinian Visual Artist who resides in La Plata, Argentina. Born in 1986, Salgado holds a Bachelors Degree in Visual Arts with Distinction and Honors from the National University of La Plata, where she is currently doing a Postgraduate Program in Visual Production. She works from an expanded vision of painting, inquiring into a wide variety of techniques, with nature scenes as her main topic. Her current work explores the development of a personal and synthetic visual grammar in order to describe organic shapes. Salgado has most recently exhibited “La especies privadas” at the Art Gabinet of the Natural Science Museum of La Plata, as well as “Nearby Universes” selected by the National Fund for the Arts (Argentina). Her solo exhibition “Todo lo que había brotado entonces” opened at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Latinoamericano ( Latin American Contemporary Art Museum) in 2017.

This series of works is called “La especies privadas”, where she finally reaches abstraction with reduced palettes of colors. The dynamic of the series are revealed through multiplicity: this set of paintings are definitely designed with the idea that more is more.
