Welcome to Domingo Comms, 2021

I wanted to reintroduce myself for anyone just joining here on Domingo Comms to explain a bit more about what Domingo is, who I am, and why I’m so happy you are here because we have a lot of exciting new things coming in 2021.

I’m Veronica, I created Domingo Comms just five months ago (to the day) to offer my services as an arts communications professional to both businesses and individuals. I have over a decade of experience in international brand management and art fairs, and have overseen marketing and communications for organizations such as Money20/20 Europe, Affordable Art Fair New York City, and PULSE Art Fair.

Domingo was launched to help others rediscover their love of home through meaningful and affordable art and interior design. Soon after launching, Domingo also quickly became a space for emerging and established Latinx and Latin American artists to promote their work through Domingo Featured Artists.

I’m first generation Colombian-American, my mother is from Bogotá, Colombia and my Dad is Irish-American from Queens, New York. To say I’m in a constant state of identity crisis is an understatement!

Domingo Featured Artists was born from a need to explore where I fit into this country, into the conversation inside the art world and elsewhere. I wanted to share my love of Latin American and Latinx artists with the world because these artists’ work represents an aspect of this exploration which I know many can relate to, with themes ranging from feminism, belonging, consumption, body politics, identity, to architecture, nature and more.

My design taste is also informed by the experiences I’ve had, growing up exposed to such a vibrant visual and artistic culture when frequently visiting my family in Colombia, living in the UK for over five years in my twenties, and being born, raised, and now back in New York.

I offer three distinct services:

Long story short - With this one-hour consultation, a virtual call or in-person visit, we will work together to find solutions for a particular design issue you may have in your home. After our consultation, I’ll email you suggestions for next steps as well as up to five artwork recommendations.

The big picture - An in-depth package solving design issues and finding new artworks, with two consultations within a one month period of time, we’ll conceptualize, plan, and discover new art; putting techniques and practice into play.

Unwritten - Communications strategies for artists and businesses, bespoke art advisory and interior design services. Serving artists, galleries, and individuals looking to increase their visibility with bespoke communications plans.

In addition to Domingo’s three core services, as a platform Domingo Featured Artists promotes Latinx and Latin American artists by showcasing artworks for sale in a variety of formats, and works under $500 are available from each artist on the online store alongside Domingo merchandise. My aim is to highlight artists’ artwork, bring awareness to their talent, and create opportunities where I can. I choose artists very carefully and their work has to strongly connect to the particular mission and conversation Domingo is creating.

This year, Domingo is dedicated to exploring deeper dialogue between Latinx and Latin American artists. Domingo is all about storytelling and by bringing these artists together we focus on the unique identities of these interconnected cultures.

So like it says on my business card: “Art and design services for you, communications strategies for your business.” A one-stop-shop for your small to large interior design needs, art advice services, and art communication plans; you can even purchase art directly on this site. It’s all right here.

That’s it for now! Thank you for being here. Be sure to sign up for the newsletter and I can’t wait to connect. Reach out and ask questions, I’m here to serve you and your design and art needs.

Love,

Veronica
